Phaiacians are most expert in sailing over seas, and women are good at weaving.
He is fed very well with food and wine, and had a room prepared for him to sleep.

1. The Phaicians were best known for their pointed prow, brisk ships that could cross the sea`s immense abyss. This was Poseidon`s gift to them, as swift as birds in flight, as thoughts-such are their ships.
2. When he came and took the queens knees, he sat in the ashes. The queen thought he was honorable and the king himself helped him up and seated him by him. They fed, quenched his thurst, bathed him, and let him drink out of golden dish ware like a god. The king even said he could take his daughter if he stayed.

1. The craft the Phaiacians are best known for isthier brisk ships;with these they cross the sea’s immense abyss. This was their “privilage”, the special gift Poseidon gave the countrymen: as swift as birds in flight, as thoughts-such are their ships.
2. As a guest Odysseus is treated very well, pretty much the way any person would like to be treated by anyone. He is given water to clean off his dirty hands, good food, wine, and a comfortable bed to sleep on.

Does it seem odd to anyone how easily these folks help Odysseus? A castaway with no money, no name, nothing . . . and they willingly feed him, clothe him AND promise a ship!

1. The Phaecian’s ships are very brisk on water. Poseidon gave them the gift of that the ships will travel as swift as birds in flight, or as swift as thoughts. The ships were specially made to fly through the water.
2. Odysseus is seated by the king himself; he was then given wine and food to eat. After Odysseus talked about how he got here he was then given a room to sleep in, Odysseus slept that night on rugs, clean sheets and Fleece. Odysseus was treated like a god and they even promised to help him get home.

The reason they treat him so well is because sometime gods desgised as humans and see how they are treated if their treated bad luck will happen to them.
Vara(: said,

Ms. Bishop- The answer to your question is that, when the King was talking he mentioned that, the Gods can disguise themselves into any kind of mortal, and if they weren’t treated well the God would cast bad luck upon them [= So they treated every stranger with kindness.
